Daichi-ji is a Buddhist temple of the Koyasan Shingon school, the tradition founded by Kōbō Daishi (Kūkai) on Mount Kōya. Our principal image is Fudō Myōō (不動明王), the Immovable Wisdom King, known in Sanskrit as Acala. With a fierce face and a blazing halo of flames, he is a compassionate guardian who burns away the obstacles in our hearts.
Founded in 1929, the temple was completely destroyed in the Osaka air raids of 1945. It was rebuilt step by step by the following generations, and in 2009 the present main hall and the Goma fire-ritual hall were newly built.

The temple grounds are open every day from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. There is no admission fee, and visitors of any background are welcome to come and pray.
Goshuin (temple seal stamps) and omamori (amulets) are available at the temple.
A ritual praying to the stars for good fortune and safety in the year ahead.
A memorial service held at the spring equinox to honor our ancestors.
Touch sacred sand gathered from all 88 temples of the Shikoku pilgrimage to receive their blessings, and celebrate the birth of the Buddha with flowers.
An Obon memorial service offering food and prayers for all spirits.
A summer festival for Jizō, the bodhisattva who protects children.
Group pilgrimages to Mount Kōya are organized from time to time. Dates are announced separately.
In 2021 the temple built its own memorial tower on Mount Kōya, the sacred mountain of Kōbō Daishi. Memorial services there continue in perpetuity, even for families with no one to carry on the grave.
